Dastek Unichip

UniChip - a highly developed, re-programmable pigguback microcomputer - works in conjunction with the Engine Management System (EMS) already fitted as standard to most modern fuel injected vehicles in order that improvements in engine efficiency power & fuel consumption can be realised.
The EMS on modern vehicles consists of various sensors, an Electronic Control Unit (ECU) and various actuators. The ECU compares data from the sensors to that stored in its memory (the MAP).
When developing ECUs for their models, manufacturers have to make compromises taking into account production and operating variations of the vehicle. The Unichip intercepts the signals from the engine's sensors and allows the ECU's original pre-set MAP to be altered and optimised, enabling the engine to reach its full potential in terms of power, fuel consumption and driveability.
