Mo Farah, of Newham & Essex Beagles, will bid for a second gold medal when he leads the British challenge at the European Cross Country Championships on Sunday week in Dublin.
UK Athletics have this morning announced Farah as one of 36 athletes who will cross the Irish sea to compete in a competition at which Briton have dominated in recent years.
A year ago Briton won 12 medals, five women’s and seven men’s, in Brussels.
The team was announced after the trials at the McCain UK Cross Challenge, in Liverpool’s Sefton Park last Saturday.
Farah has a superb record at this event.
He won the title in San Giorgia su Legnano, Italy, in 2006, his first major senior gold medal, and was second 12 months ago when he also collected a team bronze.
